Project GN1355 was formally announced to the public on July 3rd, 2024. While an official restoration timeline has purposely not been introduced, you can check for updates and follow our progress as by clicking on the button below.
In service from 1909-1955 for the Great Northern Railway. Retired and donated to the city of Sioux City in 1955.
On display downtown in front of the Sioux City Auditorium from 1955-1984.
In 1984 the Siouxland Historical Railroad Association was able to save, acquire, and over time cosmetically restore the locomotive to its current museum exhibit condition.
Today, the locomotive undergoing the process of being fully restored back to operation
